Spreading all over Bali are some magnificent shopping areas that you can spend days at browsing the various unusual shops.  Most of the well-liked Bali Hotels and resorts are situated in the south of the island and Kuta has always been the focus of visitor action, so it is expected that the most commercial and trendy shopping area has been built here.  The other area in Bali that gives a shopping experience that’s poles apart is Ubud.  Ubud is the artistic and creative heart of Bali and this is where you may find glorious art works to take home.  Bali Shopping is not just a matter of going into a store, picking an item and then paying for it, it is meant to be fun and making an attempt to get a bargain is an element of the excitement.

Kuta art market is a great place to sharpen your bartering abilities while shopping.  In Indonesia countries it is accepted that you’ll try and haggle when you are purchasing something, the owners won’t get insulted if you try and get a cheaper price .  Bartering is a technique of life there and if done in a friendly way, you may soon be giggling away with the store keeper, declaring bankruptcy and waving your hands all over the place.  If after your bartering attempts have not brought you any joy, explain the price is simply too high and slowly walk off the majority of the time the store keeper will call you back with a far better offer.

It’s best to browse around first before purchasing anything as costs can seriously vary even a few stalls apart.  Quality of items can also vary and you must ensure you are paying a reasonable price for whatever you are purchasing.  The shops are full of Balinese home made crafts that aren’t really unique and are rather mass produced, though you’ll be told that they’re definitely originals, if you are truly trying to find quality handcrafted Balinese art work it is better to take a trip up to the mountainous area of Ubud.

The mementos that you will find in Bali range from the inexpensive fridge magnets to the more stunning artworks that are made by the Balinese people.  For the most dazzling artwork Ubud is unquestionably the place to go.  The entire area is encircled by little towns that have specialized in a certain craft or art for centuries, passing their knowledge down from generation to generation.  Woodcarvings are very popular as a gift or souvenir as they’re intensely intricate and the sculptures can be of just about anything.  Many ladies in Bali still weave their own cloth and materials and the designs that are created and are an excellent present for somebody.  Although Ubud is situated in the interior it is simple enough to find.  The bulk of the Bali Accommodation your stay in will offer tours of the island or you may find a business close by which will offer various tours which will include one to Ubud.
