Best Kept Secret: Dude Ranches
It seems as though people are always running after something in particular. People are hurrying always to collect the latest gadgets, own the fastest car, the sleekest cell phone, and the latest in home appliances. There isn’t one person who caused this phenomenal obsession with nuance. We know we have the power to change the looks of tomorrow by simply experimenting with knowledge today. Today, the ideal vacation for the modern citizen to brag about involves a streamline jet to a five star hotel in Tokyo to check out the latest in technology at a world-premier convention. People have a fixation with new, with fast, and with shiny. It seems that people have forgotten the origin of excitement in American culture. When cowboys rode across the west and wrangling wild stallions was the lay of the land. It seems as though some people are obsessed with luxury and modernity to a high degree, places like Montana dude ranches seem to be falling into a less noticeable shadow.
The strangest thing about the slowly dying interest in these ranches are the reasons. Not everyone can just take off for a weekend on a ranch, or at least they tell themselves that they can’t, and so they never do. But no matter what, some people are stubbornly convinced that a trip to the beach would do them more good than a refreshing weekend on Dude ranches.
And yet undefined have so many activities and land to roam, it’s hard to think a beach is more appealing to the wide open spaces. There is always more to do on a ranch than on a beach, where you can only tan or sip pina coladas, as opposed to wrangling a bull or learning to ride horseback. And physically, a ranch is much more beneficial to your health. Physical activity, whether taking walks down dirt paths or horseback riding, makes the body feel more fit and healthy. Also, an expensive trip to a beach, hotels and restaurants included, could rack up to be much more expensive than a weekend at a ranch, where the meals and beds and activities are all at the same place. Anyone looking for a path less walked and a little intuition will find themselves at the ranch.
But still people do not always like the idea of getting their hands dirty. The race will always be run by someone, if not several people, so why not let someone do the running for a while?
